Sorbent tube tags
TubeTAG offers thermal desorption sorbent tube tagging and tracking for ultimate sample traceability. Previously, associating data with a particular thermal desorption tube (e.g. tube ID) relied on the manual recording and retrieval of information. Barcodes are now available for TD tubes as a special service (contact Markes), but cannot be programmed to record tube history or sample specific information.
TubeTAG consists of RFID tag assemblies for attaching onto individual sorbent tubes, a tag read/write device (TAGSCRIBE) and operating software. TubeTAG is used to provide a cost-effective and sophisticated solution to ensure fail-safe tracking of tubes in transit during field monitoring projects.
Each tube is fitted with an individual tag and information is written to the tag prior to despatch. Once the tubes reach the field, additional sample collection details can be entered. Back in the laboratory all stored information can be downloaded and entered into the laboratory’s information system. Tags can then be easily removed from the tubes prior to desorption if required.
Uniquely, users of Markes tag-enabled TD instrumentation can leave tags fixed to the same sorbent tubes throughout their life as a means of tracking tube history.
